I have a 97 dodge neon with SOHC motor, automatic. The motor is shaking really hard in it. I have replaced the plugs, plug wires, coil pack, air filter, fuel line, PCM (computer), and have checked the compression. The compression was between 113 and 150 over all. I am going to put in a new tranny soon. What could be making my motor shake like this? The car runs fine and when you give it gas the shaking stops almost completly. I have only had the car one week so I dont know about its prier history. I really would apperciate some help with this.
Also we know it is not the motor mounts because we have already replaced them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.Need help with my 97 dodge neon.. any advice would be aperciated..?
It sounds like you have un even compression, find an engine builder in your area and have a Compression Leakage test done. They will pressurize the cylinders with air and see where they are leaking. only other idea is that the internal part are loose or our severally out of balance and when you put a load on the engine they tighten upNeed help with my 97 dodge neon.. any advice would be aperciated..?
Junkyards are paying a lot for aluminum. You've got a 97 Neon, the scrap value is worth twice as much as the car.
sell it ! I had a '95 and they were too expensive to keep on road , so i ran it into a guardrail(by accident of course)good luck with yours!!!!
try your oxygen sensor.
