And what was the best piece of advice you ever gave? What was the best piece of advice you were ever given?
';It's not what happens to you, it's what you do about it';
That was said to me in highschool, and I repeat it to everyone becauase it changed my life.What was the best piece of advice you were ever given?
THE SIN OF OMISSION
Margaret E. Sangster
It isn't the thing you do dear,
It's the thing you leave undone
That gives you a bit of a heartache
At setting of the sun.
The tender word forgotten,
The letter you did not write,
The flowers you did not send, dear,
Are your haunting ghosts at night.
The stone you might have lifted
Out of a brother's way;
The bit of heartsome counsel
You were hurried too much to say;
The loving touch of the hand, dear,
The gentle, winning tone
Which you had no time nor thought for
With troubles of your own.
Those little acts of kindness
So easily out of mind,
Those chances to be angels
Which we poor mortals find-
They come in night and silence,
Each sad, reproachful wraith,
When hope is faint and flagging,
And a chill has fallen on faith.
For life is all to short, dear,
And sorrow is all too great,
To suffer our slow compassion
That tarries until too late;
And it isn't the thing you do, dear,
It's the thing you leave undone
Which gives you heartache
At the setting of the sun.
A piece of advice that I was given has always stuck in my mind - was to always respect elderly people and treat them kindly - because whoever lives long enough - will one day also be elderly.
I always remembered what this person told me -- and I pass this advice on.
Got-
Forget boys, Tiff. Invest in a good vibrator.
-Muh Chrissykins.
Gave-
Dude, seriously, you shouldn't drink the bong water.
gotten:
You can't get to better days unless you make it through the night. And live below your means.
given:
To thine own self be true. And live below your means.
It was on a fortune cookie: ';You are in your own way. Stand Aside.'; Sad but true.
My advice is never good.
Dont plant corn in Winter..
Wear a condom...
Why worry when you can pray.
Ditto.
relax, it'll be ok.
