Is there anywhere I can get free tech help and advice online?

I need to find someone who can give me some step by step advice an a question that I posted earlier today.. So far no one has been able to help me so... I need to know where I can find tech help for upgrading a computer from a IDE HD to a Sata HD.Is there anywhere I can get free tech help and advice online?
Go to msn.groups.com - There is a group called ';Computer Help Club'; under computers. Their motto is we love to solve your computer problems. Is there anywhere I can get free tech help and advice online?
Sure take away our jobs.
To upgrade a computer from IDE to Serial, you will need to purchase a PCI Serial RAID card. I've performed this task for clients several times. I have used this particular card twice:

It has two internal serial ports. It's not very difficult. Just make sure you're grounded before you work on the insides of your machine! It will easily fit into your PCI slot. I hope I've helped!
try www.castlecops.com . I used them for help with a virus but I think they have a hardware forum .
to upgrade from an ide to sata hard drive you first have to see if your computer has sata ports. depending on the motherboard you will either have or not have sata ports. its easiest to just look inside and see if you have these:

its the part with the copper prongs hanging out. if you do then youre good to go. you just see how your old hard drive is connected. which is usually by screws to a cage. the cage may or may not be removable with screws also. its easiest to just look at the setup from both sides of your computer and decide if you can remove the hard drive without removing the cage. then you just install the sata hard drive reversing the steps you took to remove the ide hard drive. please note that the pin/power connectors arent the same but you can buy adapters for either sata--%26gt;ide or vice versa.

if you dont have the available connectors, youre going to have to buy a sata controller. this is an internal card that plugs into your pci slots and has both the sata hd connectors and power connectors on them. they look like this.

now all you have to do is find an available pci slot, remove the metal backing on the computer using a phillips screw driver, and install the card into the pci slot. its very hard to mess this up as the three different types of slots are completely different from each other. once you have installed the card (you will hear the click of the mount once installed correctly) all you have to do is find a free internal port and mount your hd and connect the wires which should be included in either the hd box or the controller box and you should be good to go.

disconnect the old hd if you dont plan on using it anymore, and boot up. it will boot to the bios only since there is no operating system. just place your os disk in your cd tray and reboot. windows will auto boot and youre good to go
