I am about to get a vertical clitoris hood piercing, any advice?

I'm 22 and on vacation. My fiance said that we should each get something to remember the trip by. We are going to a professional piercer, then a tattoo shop. My fiance convinced me to get a vertical clit hood piercing. Tom (my fiance) is getting a tattoo. I don't know much about clit hood piercings, except that they are supposed to give you more pleasure during sex.I am about to get a vertical clitoris hood piercing, any advice?
They also kill your nerve endings reducing the amount of sensation you will feel over time. Get your labia done instead.I am about to get a vertical clitoris hood piercing, any advice?
Vacation is NOT the time to get a new genital piercing. You'll be far away from the person who performed your piercing while you are healing and won't be able to go back if you have a problem. You should not be swimming in pools, the ocean, or hot tubbing right after a new piercing. You will also need to wait a few weeks before oral sex with your new piercing and be very careful to protect it from getting snagged or tugged durring any other activities.

For that matter vacation is not a particularly good time to get a tattoo either if you are going to be physically active (like skiing or hiking) or someplace like the beach.

Properly done vertical hood piercings should NOT affect your sensation. Your piercer should be carefully checking the area for nerves and blood vessels before you are pierced. It is possible that you could have nerves in the way of your piercing and you may have to get a different piercing instead.

Clitoral hood piercings do not neccessarily enhance sex. Some ladies get an increase in stimulation from the jewelry, while others don't. So if you are only getting the piercing for sex, then I suggest you get a good vibrator instead to play with. Regardless of sensation you will have a pretty new piercing that's fun to look at, so if that's enough for you then get pierced. Of the ladies I know who have hood piercings, about half or fewer really notice the piercings having any affect on their sex lives.

There are several websites with good information on clitoral piercings and www.bmezine.com is one of them. Head to the encyclopedia section.

Remember that not all piercers are equally skilled and educated. Just because someone is a professional piercer does NOT mean they are qualified to pierce your genitals correctly. We've all been to a hairstylist who didn't know what they were doing; you don't want that experience with a piercer. This is another reason not to get pierced on vacation. You want to be pierced in a reputable shop with an expierenced piercer. Get references on piercers in your area so you know the background of the person who is working on you. Ask questions about their experience and ask questions durring the piercing process. Protect yourself by carefully choosing your piercer.
My advice: Don't do it.

I have heard that it can give you more pleasure during sex, but there is also the risk that you could lose all sensation as well. Not worth it, in my eyes.

And the way I see it is, if you have to get a piercing ';down there'; to enhance sex, someone isn't doing their job right in the bedroom. Just my outlook.
Don't do it.

It's very painful as this is one of the most sensitive parts of your body. It will not improve your sex life and you risk serious infection.

Bottom line, Not a smart idea.
